Player Interaction Statement (Emphasis on Rules)

Vampires get free speech here. The players do not always.

Bite as well as Dark Alleyways (the game) is considered a community in reference to this forum and as such we expect players to behave and interact with one another as such. We expect you to treat each other with respect and tolerance regardless of differences or grudges between your fictional, roleplayed characters. Similarly, we expect the same behavior of you regardless of your differences or dislikes between yourselves. That is not to say that we wish everyone to get along with one another, but we do expect everyone to adhere to the policy of “If you don’t have anything nice to say, it’s best for the community if you don’t say anything at all.”

Outside of Bite, your dislikes and differences hold no bearing. However, on the forum and especially in the OOC section (and ideally ONLY in the OOC section) you are expected to conduct yourselves in a manner befitting consenting adults who actively volunteer to interact with one another. What does that mean? You choose to be here, you choose to interact with these people, and therefore, you are willfully consenting to be respectful and tolerant of them. If you do not choose to interact with people you dislike, then the solution is very simple. Ignore them, and “don’t say anything at all.”

"Racism" should extend to cover any form of unfair prejudice such as sexism, classism, racism, ageism, heterosexism, and so forth. OOC insults and symbolism based on the aforementioned should not be allowed on this forum unless in the form of Roleplay, and only then in the instance that should someone express personal offense, they will seek to remedy this either via modification or accepting a warning should they refuse.

The RavenBlack Bite is not in the business of condoning insult, harassment, disrespect, intolerance, hatred, namecalling, excessive profanity against other players, flame wars or offensive behavior while interacting with one another OOC. However, The RavenBlack Bite is all for this behavior IF AND ONLY IF it is a roleplayed part of your character’s story. We encourage it between vampires. As we believe that no player is a real bloodsucking vampire, suffice it to say that those actions are not okay for you to commit and moderation will be lodged against you should you attempt to. If you believe something you intend to post may be interpreted as inflammatory or offensive, please ask a moderator before you post it OR add a line beneath your post to define your intention. However, if a moderator finds that your definition is falsified or untrue, we may ask you to modify your post.

This forum is based upon a collaborative text-based MMORPG and we expect all OOC interaction on this forum to be collaborative or to boost morale and/or bring people together in order to make playing this game more enjoyable. Should the OOC section become the opposite, Bite reserves the right to close or remove the OOC section at its own discretion, and Bite will become a solely IC forum in nature.

Bite now also offers the options for players who do not want to be a part of the OOC section to opt out. Contact a moderator if you wish for this to happen.
